LLB (Bachelor of Laws) Unites with MD (Doctor of Medicine) ( Santo - Arano Wedding, August 26, 2006)

I peeped thru the door to see what's inside Dr. Audrey's hotel room. As usual the room was filled with people relevant to the wedding's event. Its Dino Lara and Jason Magbanua's tandem once again. What can I say! My staff was there as well to assist Audrey with her dressing. I decided to remain on the corridor outside room 1406 and just wait till Audrey gets dressed up and check the bride's look in her wedding dress. Jesi Mendez (in the picture in white) did her hair and make-up.

The flowers were just fabulous! Kudos to Jun Hen's mastery of the craft. I also took a glimpse at the transformation of Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la for this wedding's reception. It was a normal phased wedding from the Hotel to the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart. Of course, I saw Atty. Patrick and gave him a handshake. It must be a real exciting day for him finally tying the knot with Audrey. The rains? what else was new? Its August remember? As I wrap up my weddings for this month.

A Tuesday Event ( La Putt - Calica Wedding, August 22, 2006 )

A weekday wedding for us today at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (Manila Metropolitan Cathedral). Dymphna Calica was the bride coming all the way from Las Vegas, Nevada. A Filipiniana inspired theme for a soft-spoken petite but sweet and pretty lady.
Serge Igonia of Loi Floral Sense highlighted the wedding inspiration by creating a bridal bouquet made of sampaguita, our national flower as well as the bouquets of the entourage and sponsors . Sampaguita belongs to the family of Jasmine . Dino Lara and Jason Magbanua took charge of the photo and video respectively. Well yes, an ordinary gloomy and wet day it has been as we dressed up the bride at the Diamond Hotel. Nevertheless, it seemed that the weather allowed Dymphna to step into the church's facade to the main entrance door for her traditional wedding march and off the rained poured. A saying compensates the idea of good blessings when it rains on your wedding day.

an 18th Birthday.......(Ays de Velez debut, August 19, 2006 )

It was Ays de Velez's 18th birthday celebration last saturday. Everything was on schedule as preparation went on for that day. I knew of a proud mom that evening, Tess as she gave an all out support for this debut party from the very first day it was planned. She was no director for the event but a supportive listener. It made my work much easier and inspiring. No pretending know-hows. As for the gowns which I created for them, it was based on trust and confidence that I will deliver it as how they expected me to come up with it. I was given the free hand with the design and style. We were all happy and harmonious preparing and assisting Ays in dressing up. I sneaked at the ballroom and saw a filled hall. I knew this event suceeded. Wylma Vittali of Events Network coordinated the entire proceedings. As the debutant entered EDSA Shangri-la's ISLA ballroom, it hinted that our work was done from there.......

Kite at 7

Browsing thru w@w's site has given me so much picture of how successful Kite's 7th birthday party was. Too bad I wasn't around. Somehow, I'm still happy to be part of Kite's event. I hope not to miss her 8th birthday next time.

A Long Day Indeed.......! Part II, ( Datu - Zarate Wedding , August 5, 2006 )

We headed for Canyon Woods Resort for our afternoon wedding servicing. Upon reaching Tagaytay City, we realized that the weather isn't going to be as nice and friendly. We arrive at the villa fifteen minutes earlier than the expected call time for us which was two hours before marching time. We got inside the villa where the bride, Ana was having her make-up done along with the female entourage and some relatives. Indeed a villa but I realized there were just too many people inside that I decided to stay outside at the front door for the meantime. I saw the groom's mom, Doris which happens to be a friend and invited us to see how the reception clubhouse were being prepared and decorated. I asked Archie, a friend who joined us to observe the two weddings we have for the day as he himself hopes to be in the industry soon as a wedding planner and coordinator to come with us to the clubhouse. The walls of the hall comprised of sliding glass door panels. But what an innovation they did with the glass panels. Since Danny Jr. is in the printing business like his mom, they put a bigger than life size photo stickers of them (Danny Jr and Ana) covering almost an entire size of the glass panel and appeared like a glass stain of portraits. Amazing! I said to the groom that maybe after his wedding, he could introduce this concept to other couples for their wedding. After that we decided to go back to Ana's villa where I left my assistant Paulo and two female staff of mine, Glecy and Lani. After a while, we realized time was running out and the make-up work was causing delays. The rains were really pushing their way through. Unbelievable! The rain tamed a bit and gave all of us the chance to get to our cars. The ceremony will be just within the resort complex and is supposedly to start in five minutes. The rain poured even harder this time as we arrived at the ceremony venue and its was like each and every guest of the wedding had to be individually escorted with an umbrella walking to a three levelled landing of the chapel's facade staircase upwards. Well no one was spared from getting wet at least. Ana can't even immediately get out from her bridal car and head for the chapel's landing step. We had to wait for a moment but to no avail. At least four people with huge umbrellas along with my driver and staff had to accompany her up the chapel just to make sure that her wedding gown does not get wet nor soiled. The rains poured even harder this time. As I said to myself as a traditional saying goes like "Its goodluck when it rains on your wedding day", I guess there will be too many blessings to come in as the rains vanishes the view along with the fog. The march had commenced when Ana got to initial post and eventually marched the aisle wtih her mom and Uncle. We definitely managed not to get her wet. The chapel was full of guests despite the rain. As soon as Danny and Ana assumed their post at the altar, For the last time, I asked my staff to make sure that Ana's gown, veil and detachable train be laid out properly. After which we began to head for home and traffic was the last ordeal.

A Long Day Indeed.......! Part I ( Tormon - Santos Wedding, August 5, 2006 )

I am dead tired! Two weddings in a day. Manageable but really tiring as it was. My morning wedding was very smooth. No glitches! As I predicted. We initially proceeded at the Crowne Plaza Galleria where Ica and Alfie were billeted and to dress up and where their eventaul reception would be taking place. Weng Mulingbayan-Garcia of Events Manila was in-charge. Jackie Rivera? Of course the ever reliable hair and make-up artist. Indeed proved as the Asia-Pacific champion of 2005 in bridal hair and make-up category held in Sydney, Australia. Tony Padilla did the flowers. It was my first time to be working side-by-side with photographer and videographer Benny Bondoc. As I'ved said there were no glitches, but the weather was being unfriendly this morning. Oh well, the wedding escaped the threat though! I presumed all throughout the event. We left after Ica's bridal procession and headed back to the office to prepare for the next run.

A 3- Event Day not a 3 Days Event

The continuously raining month of August.........
Awaiting for the first weekend of this month
Too bad I couldn't join Kite Rana's 7th birthday party on Saturday. Reason? We're running on two weddings that day. From Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila in Ortigas Center to Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park, Makati to attend to Ica Santos' dressing to her post at the altar for a 10 am wedding rites to Alfie Tormon. Such a wonderful couple. So light and easy to deal with. I will surely miss them after Saturday morning's event.
Then we have to run up to Canyon Woods Resort in Laurel, Batangas of course passing thru Tagaytay City for Danny Datu Jr.'s union with Ana Zarate for the afternoon rites at 4pm. It meant that we only have an hour's break and be on the road again for a close to 2-hour travel by land southwards. In medical terms, we describe it as "toxic". Its going to be a long day for me and my staff.
I'm sure to miss John and Benz Rana's "el unica hija" (for now) daughter's 's party. After all, I was priveledged to create Kite's little bride ala flowergirl attire for that day.
Well you can't have them all. I just hope all three events will run smoothly without any glitch at all. It will be a tiring but smooth Saturday for us. I'm sure.
