A Potential C-Section Tandem ( Alegado - Alcantara Wedding, October 28, 2006)

A potential C-section (Ceasarian section) team of doctors were united today on a drizzling but manageable sunday afternoon. Marie whose very soon to complete her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Voltz who is finished with his residency in Anesthesiology both coming from reputable Medical Centers in the city. We entered the bridal suite of Marie at the Tower wing of EDSA Shangri-la. Make-up was on its final stage by Toto Bagamasbad. Comment? How can you go wrong with Toto? He's done it again! Neat, well made up face on Marie and the rest. I finally got to work with Richel Mascarinas for photography and Threelogy for videography. PAWP's Demoiselle Events Management was the couple's chosen coordinator. Petal Patch did the flowers for the bridal entourage. Of course I did notice the couple's wedding favors made by Sonny Osi of Excel Frames.
Marie dressed up as scheduled and had time to do her hotel pictorial and proceeded to Fernwood Garden's St. Francis Chapel for the Ceremony and the Cycad Garden for the banquet celebration. Of course I didn't miss to notice Voltz in his boyish look wearing the barong we did for him. The wedding march commenced at 6:10 pm. It was Marie's folks who placed the blusher on her face as she approached the half-length of the aisle. Did I mention about any glitch? Of course I didn't! There was none.

A Lady Di in a Renaissance theme ( Diana Gatlabayan Debut, October 14, 2006)

We're bound for Antipolo this time, the Gatlabayans' bailwick. At 4 pm we luckily arrived after the traffic ordeal at the Ortigas Avenue Extension stretch. We immediately saw Diana's beautiful transformation from a lass to a lady as Jackie Rivera was finishing the debutant's hair do. The make-up was likewise stunning. I felt happy that Rico and Laura (Diana's whimsical godparents, aka fairies) as well as Marie, the debutant's sister accommodated my recommendation to get the services of the Jackie for this theme. I didn't fail my celebrant after all. Indeed, Jackie Rivera is a world class hair & make-up artist. The Gatlabayans were such warm and hospitable hosts. Sir Joven was so admirable for his humility as the Patriarch and goes the same with Madame Mel as the matriarch.
At the fourth level of their Palace, we watched Diana do her pictorials as the staff of Jorge's Portrait does the job side by side with its videographers. Everything went on smoothly and by 6:30 pm we all headed for Jamesville Resort Pavillon where the grand celebration will be held. Flowers and Foliage did a wonderful job on the floral creation and set up of the place including ceiling decorations. I rarely stay and join my client's celebration. This is one of the rare times that I get to stay in the entire celebration. A well planned and organized debut celeration I must commend.

A Mountain View, A Golf Course, A Wedding.... ( Recto - Katigbak Wedding, October 7, 2006)

We were on the road at 8:30 am bound for SLEX. Destination: Mount Malarayat Golf & Country Club in Lipa Batangas. Passing thru the entrance gate gave me quite a remarkable impression of the place. I was informed by the reservations manager, Ms. Connie Macasaet that the entire area covers 200 hectares.
We went straight to room 203 at the country club where the bride was billeted. Hair and make-up artist Jackie Rivera was doing the bride, Dr. Ave. Within 15 minutes, videographer Jason Magbanua arrived and then Alan Borras of Passion Photography was next. Wylma Vittali of Events Network was likewise there when we came in. My staff started to set up the wedding gown in the body form and worked with the steam presser to refurbish the gown. One of my commitments I would say is that to make sure that the bride gets to dress up in a clean, crisp and crease free wedding gown. We don't mind bringing in apparel aids for grooming just too make sure that the bride appears real neat and beautiful. I got thee chance to see and read their simple but elegantly crafted invitation card in white made by Noky Dungo-Gatmaitan of Printsonalities.

I temporarily stayed in the clubhouse lobby and saw Rosie de Vera of Flowers and Foliage arriving from the San Sebastian Cathedral for the Church's floral decoration.
At 1:45 pm, we proceeded to the Church for the wedding ceremony scheduled at 2:30pm and saw the groom, Dr. Danny amongst his guests. The wedding march commenced on the dot. After the bride's march I had Jackie Rivera brought back to the reception venue to retouch the bride's make-up before the banquet proper. I sneaked into the ballroom to see the decorations. Awesome! The wedding cake was likewise interesting made by Claycakes. It had an animated figure of a anesthesiologist groom, a pediatrican bride along with different images of candidly positioned medical doctor images all over a fondant, three tiered wedding cake in light yellow.

My Thoughtful Brides, My thoughts

Its my Birthday today. I'm so touched with a previous bride-client, Grace Guevarra-Giagnocavo (based in Pennsylvania) and my bride-elect client (Divine Siasoco getting married to Eric Makiramdam) who were so thoughtful to remember me on this day. Of course my friends in the industry like Benz who didn't forget. I thank God He has given me another year to gain more wisdom. I feel so blessed. I know He will not give everything to me served in a silver platter but is up for me to work for it and eventually achieve my goals thru His guidance. I just work hard every given day. I know I should. Every day becomes a challenge and I learn something and thankful when I gain something. I always keep my fingers crossed and pray and wish that guidance will always be on my side.

After the Storm

Life goes on after last month's destructive calamity. Electricity was resumed only after the fifth day. Result? Backlogs!!! It has made us so busy this week. I feel so bad for turning down other jobs but it better be that way than being unable to finish the work on schedule. I'm having a big out-of-town wedding tomorrow. Some famous family names in Batangas. An anesthesiologist and a pediatrician. Am confident things will turn out well.
